[Snort-users] Getting error Unprocessable Entity

Unprocessable entity means there is nothing to process, i.e: ruleset for Snort 2.9.8.2 is not yet released. You can check snort.org/advisories<http://snort.org/advisories> and see if there is one for Snort 2.9.82.

And in case if you are wondering, ruleset 2.9.8.0 will not work with Snort 2.9.8.2 since the dynamic engines are different (2.4 vs 2.6).

Hi,

I am suddenly getting error while updating the snort rules. Below is the log. Please help. It was working till today morning before I started the upgrade activity.

I recently updated my Snort to latest version 2.9.8.2 after which I am able to see these errors. I have already made changed in the pulledpork.conf file for the version. Below is the output while updating the signatures.

Let me know if you need the actual pulledpork config file.

Thanks.

Even downloading the signature file alone doesn’t work with this command - wget https://www.snort.org/rules/snortrules-snapshot-2982-tar.gz?myoinkcode. It returns same error. Here is the output-
