[Snort-users] Need help running snort!

your path shows '/etc/snort/../etc/snort/rules/local.rules'  which
equates to /etc/etc/snort/rules/local.rules.

what does your RULE_PATH show?

A quick fix would be to make it like this: 'var RULE_PATH /etc/snort/rules'
