I'm pretty sure they should be good sensors, Apple seems to emphasize  
IO bandwidth in their designs typically and with the Core Duo CPUs  
they've got a ton of horsepower.

FWIW, I do all my Snort development on Macs these days. :)

Hm, maybe I need to get myself a nice Mac Pro so I can do some x86
