Did you run that command? Or the different one you specified in the
Subject line? The difference is critical. The argument right after
"-c" is the value snort wants to use as a config file. Any trailing
args are treated as bpf filter specifications; so while the command
you gave in the body of the message worked fine, the one from the
subject failed with exactly the problems you reported.

Did you perchance cut-n-paste the exact command into the subject,
then edit it to repair the typo in the body?
