1.3 Where do I get more help on snort?

Whether you are new to Snort or an experienced user, there are many excellent
resources available to help answer your questions. Before submitting a question
to the mail list, please check the following resources:
  Mail list archive: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=snort-users
  Snort FAQ: http://www.snort.org/docs/FAQ.txt
Snort Users Manual http://www.snort.org/docs/writing_rules/ (this is also
distributed in the snort installation under /doc directory)
README.xxx text files in the snort /doc directory

Many of the snort users have documented various combinations of products
including snort, MySql, Acid and others. Searching google.com with the key-
words snort + acid resulted in 32,200 references as an example. (snort + flex +
win32 resulted in 4,420 references.) If you are new to snort, there is a very
high probability your questions have already been asked. Please check the mail
list archives (above) before posting to any mail list.

If your question is relative to how to do something in MySql (or another
snort add-on product), please research those resources before posting to
the snort list.

If your question has not been answered in one of these, there is also the
snort mailing list, snort-users. You can find info on how to sign up at
http://www.snort.org/lists.html . Please do not post html mail messages
and please disable any "I'm out of the office" auto-responders before
joining the list.

You can also join snort on irc.freenode.net.
