[Snort-users] Memory leak in 1.9.0?

This question is frequently asked.

So far, I haven't seen any confirmed evidence of a memory leak.

Rather, a couple of preprocessors, new to 1.9 and enabled in the
snort.conf that ships with it, have a tendancy to grow large. In
particular, I believe the usual suspects are conversation and
portscan2. Try #-ing out the preprocessor lines for those two in
snort.conf and see if your snort doesn't stay near its startup size.
