YP and Mike,
This error has nothing to do with what version of PCAP you are
running. It only has to do with the fact that you've installed snort in
"C:\Program Files\Sourcefire\Snort". IDScenter/Snort, I'm not sure which,
doesn't understand long pathnames. Simply uninstall and reinstall (to fix
those damned registry settings--God, I hate Win32 systems... :) to another
location with a 'short pathname'. Such as "C:\Snort" or C:\prog~whatever.
We've had a few rounds on this in the archives. :) I'll beg and
plead to get it added to the FAQ.
