Sourcefire VRT Certified Snort Rules Update

Synopsis:
The Sourcefire VRT is aware of vulnerabilities in Ipswitch IMail and Borland InterBase.

Details:
Ipswitch IMail Server Buffer Overflow (CVE-2007-3925):
Ipswitch IMail suffers from a programming error that may allow a remote attacker to execute code on an affected system. The problem occurs because the application fails to correctly check-user supplied input.

Rules to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability are included in this release and are identified as SIDs 12212 through 12215.

Borland InterBase Stack Overflow (CVE-2007-3566):
Borland InterBase suffers from a programming error that may allow a remote attacker to execute code on an affected system. The problem occurs because the application fails to correctly check-user supplied input.

Rules to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability are included in this release and are identified as SIDs 12216 through 12218.
