[Snort-sigs] rule license question

Dear all,

I have a question regarding licenses. The Snort itself is GPL-ed, but what
about the signatures that are used with it? Is there a license for the
ruleset? Maybe it's a stupid question, but is it correct to use the set of
rules in a commercial environment (thinking about deploying Snort in an
organization, but they are sort of shy of open source and ask too many
questions ). Also, is it OK to tweak some of the rules to the local needs,
i.e. "crate a derivative work" ?
