[Snort-devel] Compile Issues w/ PCRE Specified Paths

I have still been experiencing some issues compiling Snort when trying to compile in PCRE from a specific path for the includes and libraries.
I am building Snort with a lot of options but to keep it simple, the following is the configure that can cause the problem.
/configure --with-libpcre-includes=/usr/local/pcre-6.7/ --with-libpcre-libraries=/usr/local/pcre-6.7/
On x86 Debian Linux this works fine and builds a Snort binary.
On ppc Suse this does not build a Snort binary but actually leaves a Bourne Shell script.
The are no errors generated would appear that the Snort binary was built at first glance until the binary is inspected. Looking at the shell script it would appear that part of the build process was not completed.
--small snip of src/snort on ppc Suse--
# snort - temporary wrapper script for .libs/snort
# Generated by ltmain.sh - GNU libtool 1.5.6 (1.1220.2.95 2004/04/11 05:50:42)
# The snort program cannot be directly executed until all the libtool
# libraries that it depends on are installed.
# This wrapper script should never be moved out of the build directory.
# If it is, it will not operate correctly.
# Sed substitution that helps us do robust quoting. It backslashifies
# metacharacters that are still active within double-quoted strings.
When the PCRE path options are left out the Snort binary is built just fine on both platforms.
