Comments at the end of a line work perfectly well. I'm using these all
over the place with no ill effects.

The problem is the dollar-sign. Use "# IPC-dollar" in the comment


It is said that the Internet is a public utility. As such, it is best
compared to a sewer. A big, fat pipe with a bunch of crap sloshing
against your ports.
