Sorry if this is a duplicate but this appears to still be a problem with
snort.2.1.3. I have not dug into the issue with 2.1.3 to determine if it
dies in the same subroutine, but it dies at the same place, when the agent
attempts to register with the mysql server.

We have done some additional digging into this and believe we have
pinpointed the problem. We were able to get this to run in a test
environement when we commented out a new subroutine called "str2int" in
sfutil/util_str.c.

Maybe this conflicts with the libmysql routine with the same name?

Hello,

We are having problems with 2.1.1 under Solaris 5.8 connecting to a mysql
database (v3.23.49 or v4.0.18). This is working with 2.0.4, so I don't
believe it is related to our database config.

Snort dies with a segmentation fault during the Connect() at:

        Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
        0x000bba48 in str2int (str=0xffbeff7c "077", ret=0x8,
allow_negative=0) at util_str.c:53
/local/src/snort-2.1.1/src/sfutil/util_str.c:53.

Thanks,

Don
