Job Description: (Research Analyst)

Sourcefire, Inc. is looking for a Research Analyst to join our
highly talented Research and Development team in Columbia, Maryland.
We are looking for individuals with extensive experience in
Network Intrusion Detection methodologies and vulnerability research.

Research Analysts will be expected to research and document vulnerabilities
that affect a wide range of network devices, operating systems, and
applications.  Other duties include; monitoring security mailings lists,
databases, and information stores for new and emerging threats, verifying
and testing the technical accuracy of disclosed threats, creating
Snort rules for verified threats, and creating accurate and concise
documentation on all research conducted.

Individuals must work well in a team environment, be highly motivated,
and willing to learn new skills.  Experience with the fasted paced
startups is highly desired.

Qualifications:

     A. Technical
         1. Strong technical writing skills
         2. Extensive experience with Intrusion Detection Systems
         3. A thorough understanding of trojans, backdoors, and exploits
         4. Minimal Perl, C, and x86 assembly experience.
         6. Extensive network traffic analysis experience.
         7. General Unix fundamentals
         8. General Windows fundamentals
         9. Experience with Snort a plus

     B. Educational
         1. College degree in Computer Science or related field.

         2. 1 to 3 years of equivalent experience in security and
            network administration.

Job Description: (Research Engineer)

Sourcefire, Inc. is looking for a Research Engineer to join our
highly talented Research and Development team in Columbia, Maryland.
We are looking for individuals with extensive experience in Microsoft
Windows debugging, vulnerability research, exploit development, and
Intrusion Detection Systems.

Research Engineers will be expected to develop, debug, document, and
reverse engineer exploits as they are discovered in-house or from
the field.  Other duties include; Snort rule development and
proto-type preprocessor development to rapidly protect our customers
from emerging network threats.

Individuals must work well in a team environment, be highly motivated,
and willing to learn new skills.  Experience with the fasted paced
startups is highly desired.

Qualifications:

     A. Technical
         1. Strong programming skills in C, Microsoft C++, and x86
            assembly
         2. Extensive software reverse-engineering experience
         3. Extensive experience with IDA Pro, SoftICE, and GDB
         4. Strong technical writing skills
         5. Strong network programming background
         6. Extensive experience with protocol analysis and network
            traffic analysis.
         7. General Unix fundamentals
         8. General Windows fundamentals
         9. Experience with Snort a plus

     B. Educational
         1. College degree in Computer Science or related field.
         2. 4 to 7 years of experience in C or C++ programming,
            network administration, and security.
