Summary: ntwdblib.dll could not be found

Initial Comment:
Running SNORT on a W2K Server with MYSQL and
get "The dynamic link library ntwdblib.dll cound not be
found in the specified path....." why trying to launch
SNORT. Looked all over and this looks like a sql db .dll.
Have you seen this before?

Rerun the snort install and when it prmpts you to modify, just
select snort-barebones. It would install snort without the db
support and hence wont even look for the dll in question.

The DLL you named is a Microsoft SQL Server DLL for client
programs. You are probably trying to run the snort
executable which has SQL Server support compiled in, on a
workstation without SQL Server installed (or without SQL
Server client installed).

There are several different executables of snort for Win32,
with various features enabled or disabled in the executable.
The major ones are: support for SQL Server, Flexible
Response, and running snort as a Win32 Service. All snort
executables support logging to MySQL.

You should locate a snort executable which does not have
support for SQL Server, and run that one instead.
